Shopping for
local produce in the cobbled streets of Molyvos is one of the joys of
your holiday, but if you want to travel further afield we can advise you
where to go. Fresh fish is a particular speciality of the island.
Taking a boat trip is a wonderful way of seeing Lesvos. The captains will show you the interesting coves and the most beautiful, secluded, sandy beaches. You will be able to stop for a swim and refreshments before heading back to Molyvos harbour.
These trips may be arranged
directly with the boat owners at the harbour or will we be happy to do
this for you.
Molyvos is a gourmets' paradise. You will find it difficult to choose between so many tempting restaurants. These vary from charming, romantic establishments in the backstreets to luxury restaurants perched high on the cliff with stunning views of the sun setting over Molyvos harbour.
If you are planning a special
dinner whilst staying with us, please let us recommend somewhere especially
for you. We can even advise on suitable menus for the time of year.
Let us meet you at the airport in an air-conditioned car. This is more convenient than travelling on a coach with other holidaymakers which usually involves waiting and then a long trip to your accommodation. We will be there to meet you and to drive you direct to Molyvos giving you a taste of the beautiful scenery you will see on your holiday with us.
We can have a hire-car waiting at the studios for you, or if you come out of season you can visit the many hire firms to choose your own.
We have very good relationships
will the local car hire companies and can negotiate the best terms for
your needs.
If you would rather sleep and forgo the pleasure of a gentle stroll in the morning sunshine to buy your breakfast rolls, we can arrange supplies of freshly baked bread and rolls, along with anything else for a hearty breakfast. Such as yoghurt and honey, tea, milk, coffee, cream. Fresh fruit is a wonderful way to start the day with local grapes, melons, oranges and figs.And if you still have room after that we have filling pastries and cakes.
After breakfast there is no rush to explore the beautiful countryside. Laze by the cooling pool-side for an hour or two and catch up with your holiday reading. All the English newspapers are available in Molyvos if you simply must know what is going on at home.
If you don’t want to get up very early and decide to make breakfast your brunch then this may last you until dinner time. The short walk into Molyvos in the evening will whet your appetite for the local specialities. We are sure you have heard that Molyvos is famous for it many restaurants. Especially the fish restaurants on the side of the harbour where you can see the fish being landed. Fish in Molyvos is very fresh and very cheap.
Every restaurant has it’s own speciality and you would have to stay a very long time to try each one. The wine flows freely and every waiter will tell you which uncle supplied which bottle and where the olives come from.
There is a very strategically
placed pastry shop on the way back from the harbour. However much you
have eaten I challenge to walk past the beckoning gateaux without giving
in.
